Benefit Committee Co-Chairs: Donna & Tom O’Brien
Donna and Tom O’Brien have been supporters of Highbridge Voices for many years and were Benefit honorees in 2013.
Dating back to 1992, Donna was involved in the early stages of the redevelopment of Highbridge, helping to plan for the healthcare and social service needs of the newly redeveloped community. Working with Monsignor Donald Sakano and Jorge Batista of the Highbridge Community Development Corporation, Donna was instrumental in bringing healthcare and social services providers to the Highbridge community.
Professionally, Donna continues her work in healthcare as the President of Strategic Visions in Healthcare, a healthcare consulting firm specializing in strategy and business development. She served as a Special Advisor for Community Healthcare Programs for the National Cancer Institute in Bethesda Maryland from 2005 to 2014 and received the National Institutes of Health Directors Award in 2009 for her work in developing a new cancer research program. Donna serves on the Board of Regents of Seton Hall University and on the Board of Directors of the Flushing Financial Corporation. She is a graduate of the College of the Holy Cross and has her Masters in Health Administration from St. Louis University.
Tom is a Business and Information Technology Solutions Executive. He is a Senior Director in the Business Consulting Practice of Alvarez and Marsal. Tom’s professional and civic activities include serving on the Board of Councillors of the American Association of the Order of Malta, the Executive Committee of the Long Island Forum for Technology – Information Technology (LIFT-IT), and on the IT Board of Advisors for Hofstra University ZARB school of Business. He also serves as a trustee of St. Joseph Parish in Garden City. Tom is a graduate of Adelphi University.
